To provide an enriched environment for training future health-care professionals and scientists, especially those from underrepresented groups by linking the opportunities in the education and training unit with the Center's research and collaborations.

1) Promote awareness of the Center among students and investigators who may have a research interest in this area, especially future applicants for training grant slots.

2) Serve as a resource for identifying courses, seminars, journal clubs and events on campus and at our collaborating institutions related to health disparities and their elimination.

3) Link research opportunities in the Center with investigators

4) Provide examples from health disparity research to faculty and educators to incorporate into their curricula.

5) Work with the Steering Committee and Research Center Liaisons to link junior and senior investigators, as well as to link those with and without experience working with multi-ethnic populations and cultures.

6) To establish a network of researchers with expertise in oral health disparity research, and assist and mentor less experienced investigators.

7) To encourage investigations that are led or co-led by a minority investigator.

8) To establish a program for deissemination of research information regarding techniques used for conduction oral health research among minority and traditionally underserved populations.
