Directory

Principal Investigator: Stuart Gansky, DrPH

Specific Aim:
To obtain a list of UCSF principal investigators (PIs) working with pediatric populations from the Committee on Human Research (CHR), the Pediatric Clinical Research Center (PCRC), the Department of Pediatrics, and the Department of Growth and Development; to perform a brief survey assessing: researchers’ knowledge of readability issues in consent materials, research protocol information (eg study design, population, and languages of materials), and their willingness to provide electronic or paper copies of their consent materials to participate in a readability research project.

To enroll a stratified random sample of PIs from Aim 1 to provide consent materials and to conduct readability grading.

To compare readability levels of consent materials in English with those translated to Spanish, Tagalog, and Chinese.
